[ while yin yu is not exactly the biggest fan of this 'temple' -- the white walls and altars are too familiar, and he'd rather stay as far away from everything that reminds him of his memories this week as possible, considering, the wings aren't too bad. when looking at the task list, he'd thought it might be nice to partner up with someone he only knows a little about: zenitsu, who seems like a sweet young man who has had a very rough couple of weeks.
so! the wings of the temple have proven to be a bit more enjoyable, and eventually, exploration led him to the beauty's wing. the cherry blossoms that pepper the grounds of these massive buildings are a little familiar, and compared to some of the other places (see: the crowded city street), it feels a bit more at home.
walking casually, mask to the side of his head so as not to scare zeintsu off, yin yu looks around them as they enter, and then down to his companion. ] ...I've never seen anywhere quite like this before. It's hard to believe we were just in that temple, isn't it...?
[ if not for the fact that nothing lasts beyond the portal, he'd be picking the flowers here for the girls. the gardens on these grounds are beautiful, and he gives them a roaming glance before looking up at yin yu.
he's heard good things. his gaze is pulled to the mask on the side of yin yu's head as he recalls a recent event. ]
The trail at the house was like this. We entered a room and came out of a clock tower that contained a forest in the clock. There was an ocean and volcano, too.
[ yin yu doesn't even react to zenitsu looking at his mask... it's a bit strange for a person just to wear something like this, in most places, so it's not like it bothers him. he's just as patient and calm as ever, taking the first few steps towards the cherry blossom trees, and making a quite noise of affirmation. he sees, he sees. ]
...The house--would that be the same place that Lady Beau and Sect Leader Nie were, then?
[ the mask reminds him of the time with the clock tower, though he doesn't say it. he follows yin yu to appreciate the cherry blossoms up close, glancing yin yu's way at the mentions of beau and nie huaisang. ]
There are more, but the three of us came from the same mansion. You're from the island, right?
[ with a nod. ] I am. In a sense, I've learned that we were somewhat 'lucky' - only that it was so short in comparison to some of these other games.
[ thinking about the island, though.... haha time to make jae talk about her own character ] You know Lady Shinobu and Tomioka, from your own world, correct? There was another one of their acquaintances with us as well, a young lady.
[ oh dear. yin yu looks a bit sympathetic, turning to properly look at his companion... ]
...The training you've done certainly isn't a waste. If you haven't reached the end product yet, then each day you work is only a step on the path towards doing so.
[ it's very gently encouraging...teacher shixiong pops out. ]
[ hm. well, it's not unfamiliar... yin yu was the lead disciple of a sect once upon a time, and has taught all kinds of shidi, from the overenergetic excited and eager ones to the quietest, most nervous.
he pauses. ] ...Would you mind sparring with me, young master?
It doesn't have to be now, though, if you wouldn't mind, there is the space. We're required to spend all day together, aren't we, for the task?
[ ah! well, he wouldn't want to press. he puts his hand to his fist, politely and apologetically bowing. ] We don't have to, though-- if you're uncomfortable, of course.
he's way too polite to say that, though. by way of explanation: ] Many years ago, I taught students in swordsmanship and the martial arts of a sect. It wouldn't so much be a partner, as I'd like to see your skills--and perhaps there are some ways I could be of assistance to you as you hone your craft, even here. A blade unused is a blade dulled, after all.
Ah--young master? [ oh gods what does he do with this??!? fretting, immediately, hovering a bit as if he could try and help him up -- ] It's alright, really, calm down... I won't make you do anything you're so uncomfortable with...

while the islanders lucked out in terms of time, it doesn't sound like the island itself was much fun. ]
Ms. Mitsuri, right? Flayn told me about her.

She had mentioned to me that she trained in the art of hunting demons. Do you do so as well, young master?
no subject
I trained for a year, but I haven't slain a single demon.
She's a Pillar, isn't she? She's much stronger than I am.

I'm already at the end, aren't I? I've been accepted into the Corps and everything. It's just a matter of time before a demon eats me.

I wouldn't say that I was ever sharp. If you see my skills now, you'll be sorely disappointed, so it's better that you don't.

Young master... If you aren't practicing, isn't that just setting yourself up to be killed, with a job like hunting demons....?

No matter how much I practice, I'm gonna die!

It's been a while since I saw a demon, but I'm still so scared!
